Description
The St. Francis Music Society is pleased to present the third concert of their 2020-21 concert series: Schubert, Liszt and the Art of Transcription, featuring Dr. Robert Holm, accomplished Steinway Artist and professor of music at the University of South Alabama. Sit back and relish the intimate lyricism of Franz Schubert, the spellbinding virtuosity of Franz Liszt as well as an enthralling blend of the two composers in Liszt’s transcriptions of Schubert’s Lieder (art songs). Also featured on the program are Liszt’s riveting rendition of Wagner’s “Isolde’s Liebstod” from Tristan und Isolde and his brilliant Concert Paraphrase of Verdi’s Rigoletto. Whether you love solo piano or music originally composed for the human voice, this event is sure to delight.
