"Our monthly vet and medical care costs average between $6\,000 and $8\,000\, so this is an important fundraising event. But we also call it a 'friend-raising' event because we are reaching out to the community with information about the wonderful pets we have available for adoption."\n\n           \n\nSince it opened its doors in 2000\, The Haven has helped 6\,500 dogs and cats find new homes.
