DESCRIPTION:Please join us at the Spanish Fort Public Library at 6:00 PM on Thursday Sept. 20th\, for a special educational partnership program between Historic Blakeley State Park and the Spanish Fort Public Library.\n\n\n\nThe event was made possible by a grant from the Alabama Humanities Foundation. Mr. Bill Finch\, garden columnist for the Mobile Press Register\, will speak about the legendary longleaf pine forest habitat\, which once predominated in much of Baldwin County and recent efforts aimed at its preservation. Mr. Finch is the co-author of the acclaimed book\, Longleaf\, Far As The Eye Can See.\n\n\n\nDr. Sue Walker\, author\, publisher\, poet laureate\, and retired professor\, will speak on Baldwin County's noted writers. Dr. Walker is author of In the Realm of Rivers: Alabama's Mobile-Tensaw Delta\, and eight published books of poetry\, has edited four national literary anthologies\, and has had her work published in more than fifteen anthologies.\n\n\n\nThis event is FREE and open to the public.
