Bayside Academy Artists Win 2nd Place in the Arts and Crafts Festival’s Student Mural Contest

Daphne, Ala., May 5, 2021 – The mural created by members of Bayside Academy’s Upper School Art Guild won second place in the 2021 Fairhope Arts Arts and Crafts Festival’s Student Mural Contest. The collaborative mural was a group effort under the supervision of AP Art Instructor Carrie Jackson. The background was a DeSoto State Park waterfall combined with collaged images of Alabama’s beautiful natural abundance. The festival wanted to showcase student artwork with an Alabama theme to coincide with the 69th Annual Arts and Crafts Festival, which only featured Alabama artists this year. The students put in many long hours on the piece which will be displayed in Mayor Sherry Sullivan’s office for a year.

Bayside Academy is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school for students in grades PK3–12.
