Please join us for the next USA by the Bay Eastern Shore Speaker Series event to be held Thursday, June 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the University of South Alabama Baldwin County Campus in downtown Fairhope. Dr. Todd Andel, professor and dean of the School of Computing at the University of South Alabama, will present a talk titled "AI at the Crossroads: Unleashing Generative Power While Safeguarding Our Digital World." 
This event is free and open to the public. A reception will be held after the talk. Seating is limited and online registration is required at southalabama.edu/speakerseries

During the talk, Andel will introduce the exciting advancements of generative artificial intelligence, showcasing its transformative power from artistic creation to scientific discovery. He will also examine its unprecedented potential to revolutionize society while addressing the need for ethical considerations and security measures to minimize inherent risks. 

"Generative AI has the potential to reshape industries and even human interaction itself," Andel says. "However, with its great power, we must also address the significant risks and ethical considerations that generative AI introduces to our digital landscape."
