Description
The HEART OF GOLD AWARDS were established in 1980 by the Board of Directors of HandsOn South Alabama to
continue the recognition of outstanding volunteers in our community. The HEART OF GOLD AWARDS are
presented to individuals and groups who have performed outstanding service during the previous year.
Awards are presented in the following categories: Civic Betterment; Corporate Citizenship; Culture and Arts; Education; Health and Welfare; Group Award (presented to a group of two or more volunteers who work together to meet a need in our community); and two Youth Awards (individual and group) under 19 years of age.
