On Saturday, April 30, Infirmary Foundation will host the Infirmary Duathlon at 8 a.m. on the campus of Mobile Infirmary. The Duathlon is a community event that consists of a two-mile run, 10-mile bike ride and another two-mile run. The event also includes a one mile Wellness Walk and an after party. Proceeds benefit the Fuse Project, an organization dedicated to investing in initiatives promoting the health, fitness, education and social responsibility of children along Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
The Infirmary Duathlon was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19, and the team is excited to bring it back to the community in 2022. Participants can register as an individual or relay team at infirmaryduathlon.org. There will also be a cash prize for the top three male and female overall finishers.
The Infirmary Duathlon attracts many local amateur and professional athletes. Post-race festivities include music, a food truck feast and beverages from Gulf Distributing Company of Mobile.
