Description
Embrace your inner botanist and inner artist during this special wildflower drawing class! Learning to draw enhances your observation and critical thinking skills. Plus, nothing is more beautiful than wildflowers. We will learn to look for the identifying characteristics of these beauties and translate these to a sketch book or watercolor paper. You will need to bring your own sketchbook and drawing implements. This class will cover basic concepts so no drawing skill is necessary! The focus will be on learning to observe so even if you can't draw a straight line you join in the fun! We will meet at the Seay Pavilion on Battlefield Road Suggested supplies to bring: 80 lb sketchbook paper or better for drawing 300 lb arches; 2H pencil, HB pencil. Please bring a chair-there is plenty of room for social distancing-and all guests are asked to wear a mask. Preregistration is required as seating is limited. About Our Instructor, Nancy Milford Nancy is a Baldwin County girl through and through. She has a passion for Alabama flora and fauna which led her to study biology at the University of South Alabama. She later pursued a career as an engineer, but re-connected with nature and began to explore her more creative side by drawing and painting wildlife. Nancy is a self-taught artist, but continues to attend workshops to polish her craft. She is a member of the Mobile Arts Council and the American Society of Botanical Artists.
