Coastal Alabama Community College is thrilled to announce that The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, an “electrifying” (Newsday) musical adaption of The New York Times bestselling novel written by Rick Riordan, will play at the L.D. Owen Performing Arts Center on Coastal’s Bay Minette campus Friday, April 19 at 7pm, Saturday, April 20 at 7pm and Sunday, April 21 at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased at the door: $15 for general admission, free for all students. From page to stage, it’s a thrilling musical for all ages. With more than 100 million copies of the book series sold worldwide, this global phenomenon has found a new home on the live stage in a "mesmerizing" theatrical event that proves "lightning can strike twice!" As a son of Poseidon, Percy Jackson has newly discovered powers he can’t control, monsters on his trail, and is on a quest to find Zeus’ lightning bolt to prevent a war between the Greek gods. Based on the bestselling Disney-Hyperion novel by Rick Riordan and featuring a thrilling original rock score, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is an action-packed theatrical adventure that has been celebrated by audiences and critics alike. This production will feature Coastal Alabama students in all roles onstage, backstage, as well as in the live band.
