Description
Remote Bayou Canot, located just off the Mobile River north of the city, was the scene of two of the most dramatic tragedies in regional history: the burning of the slave ship Clotilda and the derailment of Amtrak’s “Sunset Limited”. Come along with us as we venture deep into the delta to discover more about these events and their enduring significance. This two-hour excursion showcases the incredible beauty and natural diversity of the Mobile-Tensaw Delta as we journey to the Bayou. Prior to the cruise, join us at the Blakeley dock for a guided tour of the park's incredible tree species in honor of Arbor Week in Alabama. Acclaimed naturalist Fred Nation will be our guide. Tour is complimentary with cruise tickets. Meets at Blakeley dock 8:30 AM, concludes 9:15 in time to board the boat!
