Description
With Instructor Aaron Head, Indigo is one of the oldest dyes used for textiles and printing, with many countries having used the plant and its brilliant blue color for centuries. In this workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of the ancient practice of indigo dyeing, along with the historic pattern making process known as shibori. The skills learned in this workshop can be used at home and applied to existing artistic practices. All experience levels are welcome. After spending time with an indigo vat, students will grow to appreciate the complexities of indigo, and come to understand the ritualistic and community aspects of natural dyeing.
