To commemorate the 153rd anniversary of the Battle of Fort Blakeley, Historic Blakeley State Park will host a special day of living history and educational programming on Saturday, March 17th. Events will include Civil War artillery and rifle demonstrations, guided battlefield tours, and a lecture by noted historian Dr. Ben Severance, author of Portraits of Conflict: A Photographic History of Alabama During the Civil War. We will also offer our popular and unique “Civil War on the Eastern Shore” boat cruise.
