Description
Have you been searching for a venue to practice your sketching skills and show off your artistic talents? Do you struggle with the discipline to sketch on your own? Then you will love Historic Blakeley State Park’s latest program series—our monthly artist nature sketching event taking place the second Sunday of each month from 3:00-5:00 PM (except the brutal summer months of July-September!) in one of this region’s most beautiful and biodiverse public areas. This is a “group” event where multiple artists of all skill levels sketch in a single outdoor location at safe distances from one another. Each person selects what they want to draw or paint—it could be a landscape, a tree, a plant, insects, or whatever strikes your fancy! For local botanical artists, it will be a wonderful community activity to help the Park build a florilegium (a botanical plant inventory) and connect with others who share an interest in art and our incredible natural environment. The event will take place in several locations throughout the park, moving from place to place each month. The program will be moderated by accomplished local artist Nancy Milford.
