Description
The program has been designed to help struggling families obtain many of the necessities needed to get their kids back into the classroom. Last year we provided:
- Book bags and school supplies
- School uniforms (two per student)
- Haircuts
- Sports Physicals
- Emergency / ID / Fingerprint cards
Additionally, we had a lot of fun with:
- Water slides
- Fun with Art
- Reading Tent
- Face Painting
- Cook-out with hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, chips and sno-cones
- Positive interaction with local law enforcement officers and firefighters
If you or anyone you know are interested in volunteering the day of, collecting book bags and school supplies, or have a group who would like to participate with any of the above activities (or new ones), I’d love to sit down and discuss this project with you!
