Description
Mardi Gras really gets rolling that evening (Saturday, February 18) with the Knights of Ecor Rouge, and the men of KOER have an exciting parade planned. According to a masked spokesman, the theme for their 33rd annual parade is “Riding with the Knights,” and the floats will feature famous “rides,” including the Bat Mobile, Back to the Future’s DeLorean, Rosco P. Coltrane’s patrol car, KITT, the A-Team van, Scooby Doo’s Mystery Machine, Ghostbuster’s Ecto-1, and Smokey & the Bandit’s Ban One. In addition to the themed floats, KOER parades include crowd favorites of the gator Daphne, a Bayboat, the Pelican, and the emblem float.
As always KOER brings a lot of great music to its parade. Watch for local high school bands from Fairhope, Robertsdale, Spanish Fort, Baldwin County, and Atmore, plus the Olympia Brass Band, Robertsdale Naval Jr. R.O.T.C, and McGuire’s Pipe Band.
