Free Concert Set for Sunday, April 19 at 3 PM at the Baldwin County Coliseum
FAIRHOPE, Ala. (April 9, 2026) — The Baldwin Pops invites the community to an afternoon of bold, brilliant brass on Sunday, April 19, at 3:00 PM. The ensemble will be joined by special guests the River Region Brass Band for "All Things Brass," a concert celebrating one of music's most commanding sections. The concert will be held at the Baldwin County Coliseum, 19477 Fairground Road, Robertsdale, AL 36567. Admission is free.
The River Region Brass Band, based in Montgomery, is Alabama's newest British-style brass band. Conducted by Dr. Carly Johnson, chair of the Department of Music at Alabama State University, the ensemble brings a distinctive tradition to the Baldwin County stage. The band's President, Mike Rabig, is a former Baldwin Pops member, as is his wife, Dallas, making this a reunion of sorts for the two groups.
About the Baldwin Pops
Founded in May 1997, the Baldwin Pops has grown to nearly 80 members who rehearse most Tuesday nights in Fairhope and perform entirely as volunteers. Conducted by Wayne Fillingim, the organization serves Baldwin County through free public concerts spanning classical, Broadway, big band, Dixieland, jazz, and march repertoire, with an ongoing commitment to music education and youth scholarships.
"All Things Brass" begins at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 19, at the Baldwin County Coliseum. The event is free and open to the public, made possible through the generous support of Mayor Ruthie Campbell and the City of Robertsdale.
