Fairhope, Ala. (December 19, 2024) - Beaufort Engineering Services, Incorporated (BESI), a full-service, award-winning engineering firm based in Fairhope, has been awarded the contract for the Maximus Meats project in Summerdale, Alabama.
BESI is providing engineering services for the construction of a new 29,000 sq. ft. meat processing facility. The state-of-the-art facility will offer a fully functional plant where livestock will be processed onsite. The facility will also include a retail space with a full kitchen for precooked orders, a general merchandise area, and other offices, bringing a new commercial business to the area where local beef and pork products will be available to the public.
Scheduled to open in 2025, Maximus Meats represents an $11 million project that is expected to create over 50 jobs in the area. The facility will provide significant support to local farmers by offering a local processing option, helping to reduce transportation costs and time, thereby contributing to the profitability of their operations and to the local economy.
