Fairhope, AL–October 2025—The Haven is excited to announce its partnership with Tameron Subaru for the annual Subaru Loves Pets® initiative, celebrated throughout October. As part of this life-saving program, all dog adoption fees will be waived for the month of October (regular fee $175.00). The same adoption application process applies.
According to the ASPCA®, 5.8 million dogs and cats entered shelters and rescues in 2024, where many waited to find loving homes. That’s why, as part of their Subaru Loves Pets initiative, Tameron Subaru is providing our organization with direct funding, through a grant administered by the ASPCA®, to help us cover essential costs for preparing animals for adoption, veterinary expenses, and more.
The Haven Dog Adoption Package includes:
- Up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations (including rabies if 3 months or older)
- Spay/neuter surgery
- Microchip and registration
- Deworming
- 30-day flea, tick, and heartworm preventative
- Heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months+) and treatment if positive
- Free adopter bag of Hill’s Science Diet
- Coupons from area businesses

another pet in need,” said Michael Graham, Executive Director of The Haven.
On October 22nd, Subaru will also celebrate the 7th annual National Make A Dog’s Day, a day created to encourage dog lovers everywhere to do something extra special for their furry friends. The Haven invites the community to celebrate by adopting, fostering, or supporting shelter dogs—especially the “Underdogs,” senior dogs and those with special needs—who are most often overlooked but just as deserving of love.
