Mobile Symphony celebrates the holidays with Christmas Around the World, Dec. 14 and 15.
The Mobile Symphony Orchestra (MSO) celebrates the holidays with Christmas Around the World Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2:30 p.m., at Mobile’s historic Saenger Theatre. Tickets start at $20. This exciting family concert includes visits with Santa, a glittering setting complete with falling snow, and baritone Ricardo José Rivera bringing favorite carols to life.
Mobile Symphony’s holiday concerts have become a Gulf Coast family tradition, and the orchestra always creates a magical sense of wonder and joy. The performance includes an epic sing-along allowing the audience to sing popular Christmas carols backed by a full symphony orchestra.
“This year the MSO celebrates with Christmas Around the World. Baritone Ricardo José Rivera joins the orchestra on a global musical journey, featuring beloved carols and festive favorites from nearly a dozen countries,” MSO Music Director Scott Speck explains. “From the timeless melodies of Europe to the rhythmic beats of Latin America and beyond, this concert bridges cultures and traditions, uniting hearts in the warmth and goodwill of the season.”

Four- concert season memberships are $70-$288. MSO’s next concert is Modern Romance, Feb. 8 and 9, 2025, featuring principal timpanist Laura Noah and guest timpanist Peter Ferry. The season also includes a concert of music from some of the world’s greatest movies, a monumental performance of Handel’s Messiah, popular pianist Charlie Albright and much more.

The Mobile Symphony has been a regional orchestra for the central Gulf Coast since 1997. Scott Speck serves as music director.
