MOBILE, Ala. (February 19, 2026) — The Mobile Airport Authority (MAA) will temporarily close a
portion of Perimeter Road at Mobile International Airport (BFM) on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, to
allow crews to install underground utilities supporting construction of a new aircraft hangar.
The closure will affect Perimeter Road north of Old Military Road/Gatokoco Drive. Work is expected
to last approximately 12 hours; however, the roadway will be posted as closed for up to 24 hours to
account for potential delays. Through traffic is anticipated to resume Wednesday, February 25.
During construction, employees, customers, and truck operators accessing nearby businesses may
experience limited access. Drivers attempting to reach Dauphin Island Parkway or Interstate 10 via
DIP should use alternate routes.
