The Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra’s (MSYO) annual fall concert will showcase the Gulf Coast’s most talented student musicians, under the direction of acclaimed international conductor Dr. Iván del Prado, Sunday, Nov. 16, 2:30 p.m., at the Saenger Theatre. This regional youth orchestra draws students from three states and 18 schools. The concert includes Bizet’s Carmen Suite No. 1 and selected movements from Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol and Moncayo’s Huapango.
Each Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra performance is an exciting showcase of the amazing accomplishments of the young musicians in the orchestra. “The MSYO is comprised of the best student musicians in the region, and it’s amazing to hear them perform,” Mobile Symphony President and CEO Celia Mann Baehr explains. “We are pleased to offer this unique learning opportunity, and we are proud of them all!”
The concert is free, but donations are always welcome.
