THE SPINE INSTITUTE AT BALDWIN BONE & JOINT WELCOMES NEW 

FELLOWSHIP-TRAINED SURGEON TO ORTHOPAEDIC SPINE TEAM 

Daphne, AL (June 8, 2022) – Baldwin Bone & Joint is pleased to welcome noted spine surgeon Dr. Matthew Pollard to The Spine Institute team. Pollard will join Drs. Canale and Gordon in June, bringing his decades of clinical experience to the residents of the Gulf Coast. 

Dr. Pollard comes to Baldwin Bone & Joint from St. Francis Spine Center in Columbus, GA, and previously served as an orthopaedic spine surgeon at the Spine Center in Fishersville, VA, and the West End Orthopedic Clinic in Richmond, VA.  (Photo:  Matthew Pollard, M.D.)

Pollard holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of the South Carolina Honors College. He holds a Medical Doctorate from the University of South Carolina, completed his residency at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, and received his fellowship training from Boston’s New England Baptist Hospital. He is board certified in both spine surgery by the American Board of Spine Surgery and orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Many spinal conditions can be treated without surgery, but when it is necessary, I look for the least invasive option to help the patient heal quickly and achieve the best possible outcome,” states Pollard.
