Miss USS ALABAMA and Miss USS DRUM Announced for 2022-2023 

 MOBILE, ALABAMA, March 8, 2023 – Now hear this! Battleship Memorial Park is pleased to announce the selection of Emily Silbernagel as the 2022-2023 Miss USS ALABAMA and Crimson Harrison as the 2022-2023 Miss USS DRUM.  

      Emily is a freshman at the University of Mobile majoring in Healthcare Management.  She is the daughter of Christie and Barry Silbernagel. Crimson is a freshman at the University of South Alabama majoring in Exercise Science.  She is the daughter of Amanda and Noel Harrison.

      These ladies were selected based on their cumulative scores for strength of interview, test score, and participation in events. Miss USS DRUM received a $2,500 scholarship award and Miss USS Alabama received a $3,000 scholarship. The ladies selected for 2023-2024 Crewmate Program will be announced later this week.  

      The USS ALABAMA Crewmates represent Battleship Memorial Park and the State of Alabama at a variety of events and public appearances throughout the state. Selection criteria includes poise, appearance, strength of application, references, and interview with a selection panel.  

            The USS ALABAMA Crewmate program was founded in 1967 as an ambassador program for the newly created USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park. The program has offered more than 250 young women the opportunity to serve in this position and to earn scholarship funds to the college of their choice. The Crewmates have dedicated thousands of hours in community service to both Battleship Memorial Park and the State of Alabama.
