AIDT Maritime Training Center Announces New Summer Introductory Welding Classes
The AIDT Maritime Training Center is adding four new introductory welding and fitting classes this summer. These 3-week courses are designed to provide individuals with a hands-on introduction to various welding techniques, making it an ideal opportunity for new graduates and anyone considering a career in welding.
Course Offerings:
· Introduction to Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
o Dates: July 8, 2024 - July 25, 2024
· Introduction to Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
o Dates: August 5, 2024 - August 22, 2024
· Introduction to Structural Fitting (SF)
o Dates: September 9, 2024 - September 26, 2024
· Introduction to Tungsten Inert Gas Welding (TIG)
o Dates: October 7, 2024 - October 24, 2024
Class Schedule:
· Time: Monday-Thursday, 1 pm - 4 pm
Eligibility:
· Must be 18 years or older
· Must be eligible to work in the US
Course Objectives:
· Understand basic welding processes and safety protocols
· Learn equipment set up and usage
· Gain introductory skills in various welding and fitting techniques
These courses are provided at no cost by the AIDT Maritime Training Center. Participants will gain valuable skills and knowledge that can help them decide if they want to pursue a more extensive 16-week program in the future.
