FAIRHOPE, Ala. — St. Michael Catholic High School is excited to announce that Most Rev. Mark S. Rivituso, Archbishop of Mobile, has appointed Reverend Connor R. Plessala as Chaplain of St. Michael Catholic High School, effective June 26, 2026.
Father Connor will also continue serving as Vocations Director for the Archdiocese of Mobile and will reside at St. Patrick Parish in Robertsdale.
This appointment marks a significant milestone in the history of St. Michael Catholic High School, as Father Connor becomes the school's first dedicated chaplain.
Already a familiar and beloved presence on campus, Father Connor has spent the past two years building strong relationships with students, faculty, and families through his regular celebration of school Masses, leadership on retreats, and involvement with several athletic programs. In addition to his chaplaincy responsibilities, he will also teach theology classes, providing even more opportunities to mentor students and support their spiritual growth.
“I’m extremely grateful to Archbishop Rivituso for appointing me as Vocations Director and Chaplain at St. Michael,” said Father Connor. “I’ve loved being a part of the St. Michael community these past two years and I look forward to getting even more involved in all things St. Michael. I’m confident the Lord will continue to provide for us and bless our community abundantly.”
Dr. Andrea Williamson, Principal of St. Michael Catholic High School, said the school community is thrilled about the appointment.
“Father Connor is the perfect fit for this role,” Williamson said. “He already knows and loves our students, and they know and love him. Whether celebrating Mass, leading retreats, coaching on the sidelines, or simply walking the halls, Father Connor has a unique ability to connect with young people and accompany them in their faith journey. Having a dedicated chaplain is a tremendous blessing for our school and a major step forward in strengthening our Catholic identity.”
Williamson added that the appointment directly supports the school's mission of forming students as scholars, leaders, and disciples of Jesus Christ.
“Father Connor's presence will enrich every aspect of campus life,” she said. “His ministry will help our students grow intellectually, spiritually, and personally, while providing another trusted mentor who can guide them as they discern God's call in their lives. We are deeply grateful to Archbishop Rivituso for this investment in the future of St. Michael.”
Founded in 2016, St. Michael Catholic High School serves students from across Baldwin County and is committed to forming young men and women who pursue excellence in academics, faith, leadership, and service.
The St. Michael community looks forward with great excitement to welcoming Father Connor in this new role and the many blessings his ministry will bring to campus.
