Mobile Ballet School Open House Set for Aug. 11 and 13, Classes Begin Aug. 17
MOBILE, Ala. — Mobile Ballet, South Alabama's premier classical ballet school and performing company, will host Open House events at both studio locations on August 11 and 13, giving families a chance to tour the studios, meet faculty, and enroll for fall classes that start August 17.
Open House will be held:
Both events will include a free placement class at 5 p.m. for new students ages 8 and up. A summer Open Class will also be taking place at the same time, which visitors are welcome to observe. The Dance Shop will be onsite at both locations with dancewear, accessories, shoes, and student uniforms available for purchase. At the Mobile studio, local vendor Jefe Paletas will also be onsite with popsicles, cool treats, and fun snacks for sale. Visitors will also have the opportunity to win tickets to Mobile Ballet performances as well as other prizes.
There's a place for every dancer at Mobile Ballet. Two main tracks allow students to choose the path that’s right for them: Performance Division, for dancers pursuing technical growth and stage experience, and Recreational Division, for families who want quality dance instruction with flexibility and no performance requirements. The school also offers age- and interest-specific programs, including Primary and Mommy & Me classes for its youngest dancers, daytime Homeschool classes, the pre-professional Academy program, the auditioned Mobile Ballet Company, and an Adult Division for beginner through advanced students.
As a nonprofit organization, Mobile Ballet stages three season productions each year, giving student dancers and Mobile Ballet Company members the unique opportunity to perform alongside professional guest artists on stage for the community.
New this year: a Boys Dance Too class for ages 4–7 at the Mobile studio, an expanded Mommy & Me program (ages 12 months–3) at both studios, and new Adult classes in jazz, tap, contemporary, and Pilates. Adult Division 26-27 classes begin September 1.
Families who can't attend Open House can still register for classes anytime online at www.mobileballet.org/ballet-school. For more information, contact Mobile Ballet School at info@mobileballet.org or 251-342-2241.
