Fairhope, Ala. – Thomas Hospital, an affiliate of Infirmary Health, invites runners and walkers to take part in the 48th annual Spring Fever Chase, presented by Wells Fargo, on Saturday, March 21. The race includes a 10K race and a 2-mile fun run and walk through downtown Fairhope.
Spring Fever Chase has supported Baldwin County Schools for decades, helping fund P.E. programs, equipment, and activities that keep children active. Since 2012, more than $105,000 has been donated to schools in Baldwin County through Spring Fever Chase’s grant program.
New this year, Spring Fever Chase introduces a three-year finisher medal series designed to reward repeat participation. Participants can collect a medallion each year leading up to the 50th anniversary race to reveal a special design.
Day-of-race registration opens at 7 a.m. at the intersection of Bayview Street and Fairhope Avenue. Registration ends at 7:45 a.m., the 10K race starts at 8:00 a.m., and the 2-mile fun run and walk begins at 9:30 a.m.
Awards are presented to the first, second, and third place overall male and female finishers in the 10K race. All 10K and 2-mile fun run participants receive a finisher medal while supplies last.
Ormand Thomason, President of Thomas Hospital, stated “Spring Fever Chase is a long-standing tradition in our community. We are proud to support the event and its mission to promote physical activity and wellness for Baldwin County students.”
Schools with at least 25 race applicants receive $2 for each participant that registers. Students and parents must pre-register through their school no later than March 6 to be eligible for the school incentive program.
