Fairhope, Ala. – This holiday season, the team at Thomas Hospital took meaningful action to give back to the local community by supporting Ecumenical Ministries, a non-denominational social service agency that provides vital assistance to low-income families and individuals in Baldwin County.
Over the course of 24 days, hospital employees collected one food item each day, amassing a generous donation of non-perishable food items for families in need. After the collection period, all of the items were gathered and given to Ecumenical Ministries, which will distribute them to families for holiday meals and beyond. In addition to food, the hospital team collected more than 500 pairs of socks, recognizing that this simple but essential item can make a significant difference for individuals facing a hardship.
The hospital staff also participated in an angel tree program, providing Christmas gifts for 36 children in need. These children will receive toys and clothing to brighten their holiday season, ensuring that they experience the joy of receiving this Christmas.
"We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to support Ecumenical Ministries and our local community during this season of giving," said Ormand Thompson, President of Thomas Hospital. "It’s an honor to help provide food, socks, gifts, and hope to those in need, and we couldn’t have done it without the generosity of our amazing staff. It’s truly a reflection of the caring spirit of our team."
Thomas Hospital is deeply committed to supporting the health and well-being of its community, and these holiday initiatives are just one example of how the hospital works to make a positive impact year-round.
